Control of the MVR is achieved through an air pressure signal generated from the electronic proportional pressure regulator. Air pressure against a solvent-resistant diaphragm moves the needle up and down across the fluid ports, so fluid flow through the MVR is proportional to the air pressure control signal — an increase in air pressure results in an increase in fluid flow. The MVR is used as the closed-loop flow control regulator on Binks IntelliFlow systems such as the RF2+.
The 76624 Weepless MVR Assembly replaces the TR-SSMM-XXX "weeping" MVR Assembly. It is offered in low (#2), medium (#3) and high (#4) flow assemblies with no fittings, with two 3/8 in O.D. tube fittings (A), or with one 3/8 in O.D. tube fitting and one 3/8 in O.D. stem adapter (B). Five fluid needles are available, from #0 ultra-low flow to #4 high flow. Note: Binks states that degraded performance or failure will occur if the Weepless MVR is used with isocyanate catalyst. In some installations with low-viscosity fluids at high fluid pressures, Binks recommends the LAFX4001 valve as a preliminary shut-off to minimize line pressure during trigger-off (see LN-9225-00 Technical Service Bulletin).
The weeping MVR is available as #2 low flow (TR-SSMM-147), #3 medium flow (TR-SSMM-148) and #4 high flow (TR-SSMM-225) assemblies with a bottom weep port.
