Binks electric infrared curing booster oven system
BINKS Infrared Curing Systems

Description:

Binks designs and manufactures electric infrared curing solutions that work with all conveyor types and are available as boosters, ovens or combination systems. Binks infrared systems cure powder and liquid coatings, as well as several other types of finishes and adhesives.

Infrared curing applies radiant energy to the part surface by direct transmission from an emitter. It heats what needs to be heated rather than the surrounding air, so it takes less time and energy to do the job. Compact, modular designs allow flexible configuration while delivering higher production rates, lower operating costs and a high-quality finish in minimal floor space.

Infrared Oven Types

  • Infrared Booster Ovens – modular ovens engineered for all coating types and configurable for all part sizes and shapes. Particularly effective where increased line speeds and multiple control zones are required. Energy-efficient, instant on/off emitter control.
  • Infrared Smart Lab Oven – designed to test coatings and processes at the customer site, providing an accurate, repeatable testing environment and valuable data for process development.
  • Glass Oven Systems – flat glass oven and drying systems using compact high-intensity T3 short-wave infrared emitters for drying capability and energy efficiency.
  • Glass Preheat Ovens – efficient wavelength control for rapid, uniform heat-up; closed-loop temperature control delivers glass to the injection mold process at the desired temperature, improving bond strength at the gasket-to-glass interface.
  • Flash Off Ovens – used between coats to release initial solvents, helping prevent bubbling or blistering and reducing rework before a curing oven or second coating process.
  • Coil Pretreatment Drying and Coil Curing Ovens – high-intensity shortwave infrared ovens for pretreatment drying and prime/finish curing on new or existing coil lines.

Emitter Technologies

Depending on the cure time required, Binks offers short wave emitters with T3 tungsten filaments, medium wave nickel-chromium coil and tubular elements, and long wave ceramic cone emitters, in a variety of wattages, heater sizes and voltages. See the comparison table below and the Electric Infrared literature (04-443-01).
